For centuries, nobles, hunters, farmers and travellers have crossed paths in these places. Uniting these worlds have always been the flavours and smells coming from the castle kitchens, in the past, and from the Locanda del Sole, today.
Ancient spectators and witnesses of these gastronomic interweavings are, still today, the stones and battlements of the Castle of Querceto.
At the Locanda del Sole you will be able to experience this magic that smacks of an ancient but still living world!

To the rhythm of a world well-made
The Locanda del Sole, in the main square of the hamlet of Querceto, has always been a reference point for 'wayfarers' and a meeting place for the local people: in the 1960s it had a public telephone and bar, and then it became a restaurant and inn. Today, conviviality continues to be the goal of Carmen and Francesco, the current owners, who with their hospitality and their dishes will make you appreciate their passion for good food and good wine.

Healthy and genuine
An atmosphere of times gone by is what you breathe at the Locanda. Passers-by will discover that pasta, bread and desserts are homemade and that the kitchen favours genuine, seasonal local produce without ever neglecting the constant search for new culinary techniques that make every dish, from the simplest to the most elaborate, more digestible.
THE LOCANDA
You can choose to either sit in the cozy room with fewer tables and the fireplace, or else go down to the large stone-paved dining area with vaulted ceilings and large wooden tables.
In nice weather you can eat outside in the pleasant restaurant’s dehors with a lovely view on the ivy-covered Castle.
The Locanda del Sole is also a perfect venue for organizing events like weddings, business dinners, birthdays and anniversaries and other special occasions. The menu can be personalized from the vast choice of the Chef’s creations to suit the tastes of clients and guests.
